'Corporate Wellness' is Topic of Friday Forum at MATC's Mequon Campus Dec. 7.

“Corporate Wellness” is the topic of a Friday Forum discussion set for 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the Lecture Hall at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Mequon Campus, 5555 W. Highland Road.

Anne Sheridan, MATC employee wellness coordinator, will address how businesses can develop a wellness program that will benefit their employees. Lucia Francis, vice president of MATC’s Mequon Campus, will moderate a discussion following the presentation. Sheridan will discuss management support, teamwork, data collection, planning, interventions, environmental support and evaluation. She also will detail how a wellness initiative led to surprise results and outcomes.

Businesses of all sizes have recognized that a healthy workforce contributes to a healthy bottom line. Over the next decade, factors like an aging population and ramifications of the new health care law are expected to result in more employers developing their own wellness programs.
