SEVEN GERMANTOWN DESTINATION IMAGINATION TEAMS PLACE AT GLOBAL FINALS IN KNOXVILLE, TN
Seven Destination ImagiNation creative problem solving teams from Germantown placed 18th or higher at the DI Global Finals May 25 – 28 in Knoxville, TN. DI Coach Maureen Warnimont making her ninth trip to the global competition, coached MacArthur Unidentified Moving Object team members Jaime Erickson, Jeremy Erickson, Austin Paul, Will Schlosser, Lydia Symens, Madison Van Allen, and Max Wessel to a 4th place win. MacArthur Spinning a Tale team members Sara Allen, Ellie Basting, Chris Jensen, Nikita Kulkarni, Jack Oswald, Samantha Oswald, and Ally Snyder along with coaches John and Julie Oswald, took 15th place.
Also competing in the Spinning a Tale challenge, Amy Belle students Sarah Ayer, Andrew Barelmann, Connor Fixel, Carmon Flasch, Kellie Hasbrook, Caitlin Hjelsand, and John Weber with coaches Mark Barelmann and Linda Fixel placed fifth in their challenge.
Three Kennedy Middle School teams qualified for the global finals. Unidentified Moving Object team members Elizabeth Brown, Marissa Goodnetter, Robert Loth, Jacob Mohar, Jenny Plank, Daniel Schultz, and Diane Xue and coaches Catherine Plank and Mary Bykowski tied for 4th place. Triple Take Road Show team members Skye Beckes, Piper Brown, Emma Dover, Kayla Fixel, Rachel Proite, Samantha Siebenaller, and Ryan Yont with coaches Dena Brown and Beth Dover placed 11th. Verses! Foiled Again! team members Madisin Beckes, Tess Colclasure, Cole Erickson, Trevor Kellom, Alex Kempke, Marissa Marks, and David Schultz with coach Wayne Beckes placed 5th.
Germantown High School Unidentified Moving Object team members Marie Burnham, Kelly Bykowski, Jordan Fredricks, Kayla Hietpas, Andrew Mahler, Kayla Nieman, and Rachel Siebenaller with coaches Dave and Mary Bykowski took 18th place.
The seven Germantown DI teams earned the privilege of advancing to the Global Finals after competing and winning at regional and state level competitions.
