The Warhawks turned in a season best 18-hole score of 315 in taking third in the regional meet at Mee-Kwon on May 25.
Germantown advanced to its own sectional tournament at Blackstone Creek on Tuesday (see GermantownNOW.com for details). The top two teams and first three individuals not on those teams advance to the WIAA State Tournament, June 7 and 8, at University Ridge in Madison.
"We might be in the mix with the way we're shooting now," said Warhawks coach Gary Anderson. "The scores came in really nice today."
Germantown was led by freshman Jacob Garstecki, who tied North Shore Conference champion Jordan Niebrugge of Homestead for medalist honors with a season best 72.
"We've been waiting for something like this out of him all season and it was nice to see him do it today," Anderson said. "He was pretty excited to tie Jordan."
Alex Burkhart also had a good day despite battling a stomach virus. He carded a 77, while Scott Loftus and Mike Baran each came in with 83s and Gary Dahlke posted an 84.
North Shore champion Nicolet won the event with a 305 score while Homestead was second at 308.
"It's a one day event (sectional)," said Anderson. "We'll go out there and try to make things happen."

The Indians secured the fourth and final WIAA sectional qualifying slot while posting a season-best 18-hole score of 317 in the WIAA regional meet at Mee-Kwon on May 25.
Falls took part in the WIAA sectional at Blackstone Creek on Tuesday (see Menomonee FallsNOW.com for details).
"The guys really turned it around on the back nine," said Indians coach Tony Pritchard. "There wasn't a lot of panic on their part. We knew that Cedarburg (in fifth) had posted that 328 out of the early groups, so we knew what we had to do.
The Indians were led by Aaron Dederich with a 77 while Adam Rubatt came in with a 79.
"Aaron's score was just huge," Pritchard said. "He was one who really turned it around on the back nine (with a 34).
The balanced effort also included Tyler Johnson at 80, Matt Zoske at 81 and Brendan Paule with an 82.
"There are a lot of rumblings out there that people don't consider Blackstone Creek a sectional-worthy course," Pritchard said. "I say bring it on, because every nuance and quirk works in our (and Germantown's) favor. We're looking forward to it."

The Warhawks bounced back from the disappointing 9-2 loss to North Shore champion Homestead on May 24 (see GermantownNOW.com for details) by sweeping Hartford, 13-3, and 11-3, on May 27.
With the twin wins, Germantown closed out its regular season at 17-7. The Warhawks earned the third seed in their own WIAA sectional bracket and earned a first-round bye. They will host the winner of Nicolet and Milwaukee Vincent in a regional final on Thursday (today).
The sectional semifinal will be June 8 (TBA) likely at second-seeded Greater Metro Conference champ Brookfield Central.
The sectional final will be at Germantown on June 11.
In the doubleheader sweep, Hannah Klebesadel got the win in the opener, scattering six hits with 12 strikeouts and two walks. Kelsey Griebling and Addy Green had three hits apiece and Erika Swoboda and Emily Driscoll two each.
A five-run fourth broke open the game for good.
In the nightcap, Katie Aumann also scattered six hits while striking out eight. She also contributed a home run with two RBI while Jenny Weyker had two hits with three RBI.
Germantown scored three times each in the third and fourth innings to take control.

The Warhawks bounced back from its 2-0 loss to North Shore Conference champion Homestead on May 25, to beat a good Waukesha West side, 1-0, in a regular season closer May 27.
Germantown (11-5-3) got a goal from Jamie Karch 20 minutes in to secure the win. West outshot the Warhawks by a 9-6 margin. Maggie Marks made eight saves.
The Warhawks earned the seventh seed in its WIAA sectional bracket and will now host Wauwatosa East in a 7 p.m. regional semifinal Thursday. The winner will advance to a regional final, likely at two seed Homestead on Saturday (TBA).
"All I know is that the sectional is very deep and that second round (regionals finals) is going to be just very tough," Homestead coach Rich Dorn said.
"I still believe everything is starting to click," said first-year Warhawks co-coach Paul Sikinger. "The last couple of weeks have been very good to us (despite the Homestead loss) and our confidence is still high."
What the Warhawks couldn't cope with on May 25, was the skill and speed that the Highlanders had up front. They were back on their heels in the first half, but didn't give Homestead any good looks on the muggy, warm evening.
That changed at the start of the second half, as Homestead started pushing even harder, especially junior forward Olivia Tehan. Just 2:30 into the session Tehan made a quick run down the right side just as two defenders closed on her near the top of the penalty box. She managed to squeeze through them and forced the ball past a charging Marks.
The ball had just enough energy on it to trickle into the net's far left corner.
Then 14 minutes later, Tehan ran up on a long pass deep in the Germantown zone behind the defense. Marks had to commit and Tehan was able to pound the ball into the far left corner again.
Sikinger was a little disappointed in what he felt were two defensive breakdowns.
"In the first half, our whole goal was to work hard and make sure we didn't lose on our home field (it was the first time that has happened this season for Germantown)," he said, "and we were able to shut them out, but after that first goal, we put our heads down a little."

The Warhawks season came to a quiet end on May 25 when they failed to advance anyone out of the WIAA sub-sectional at West Bend East.
Germantown scored six points in the event as eventual sectional champion Homestead won with 20.
Seniors on the Warhawks roster this spring included Todd Bieniasz, Austin Dieringer, Andrew Graham, Bradley Hobart, Chris Sberna, Jeremy Thiel and Ben Xue.

The Indians closed out their regular season with a 6-3 loss to nonconference opponent Arrowhead.
Falls finished up the regular season campaign at 13-6 while Arrowhead improved to 12-9.
The Indians earned the third seed in the WIAA Arrowhead bracket. They took on Hartford in a regional semifinal on Tuesday and if victorious will host the winner of Waukesha North and Oconomowoc in the regional final on Thursday.
Sectional semifinals will be June 8. Kettle Moraine is the two seed and a likely opponent of the returning state qualifier Indians if events take their predicted course.
The sectional final will be on June 11 at Arrowhead. Watertown is the top seed.
In the loss to Arrowhead, Falls was hit with a five-run first by the Warhawks and could never recover. It was 6-0 before Falls got the board with a run in the fifth. The Indians scored twice more in the seventh.
Nicole Zywiec took the loss with four strikeouts while allowing nine hits. Aleah Van Horne had two hits for Falls.

The Indians closed their regular season on a sour note, falling to Hartford by a 3-1 count May 27.
Falls (11-8-1) subsequently earned the sixth seed in the WIAA Brookfield Central sectional. It will host Pius XI in a 7 p.m. regional semifinal on Thursday. If they win that game, they will likely visit third-seeded Central in a Saturday regional final (TBA).
The sectional semifinal will be June 10.
Falls struck first within the first four minutes against Hartford on a Jenna Woodson goal, but the Orioles tied the game just seven minutes later. Hartford then won it with goals at the 49- and 66-minute marks.
Robyn Schneider made six saves for Falls.
