Woosencraft wins powerlifting title

Former Menomonee Falls High School Principal Richard Woosencraft could not be beat, turning in a meet best effort of 300 pounds to win the bench press in the age 60-64 division of the Senior Olympics Powerlifting Championships held at the Brickyard Gym in Bay View on Saturday.

Woosencraft had lifts of 260, 280 and then 300 to win his title. The event was broken down into age groups for athletes age 50 and older and only one other person in any other age group hit the 300-pound mark, according to Woosencraft.

Woosencraft will now compete in the Senior Olympics Track meet at Milwaukee Pulaski High School on Saturday taking part in the shot put and the discus.
