Nagawaukee golf league looking for players

The Nagawaukee Tuesday Women's 18 Hole Golf League is looking for new members and/or subs for the 2009 season.

Play starts at 6:30 to 8 a.m. every Tuesday (weather permitting) from the first week of May to the second Tuesday in September.

Falls' Genthe earns WIAC field event athlete of the week

Kaitlin Genthe, a Menomonee Falls graduate and a junior majoring in physical therapy at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, was recently named Field Event Athlete of the week by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Genthe finished second in the pole vault at the Wisconsin Badger Open on Feb. 21 with an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying mark of 12 feet-3 ½ inches. Her performance was a lifetime best and the fourth-best in the country this season.

Falls' Junior Indians Wrestling Club competes well at Slinger

Six members of the Junior Indians Wrestling Club earned first places in the Slinger Youth Tournament on Feb. 22.

In the kindergarten through second-grade competition, Henry Hanson, Ethan Pogorzelski and Justus Zemberi earned championships and Brady Ciesemeir took second.

In the third- and fourth-grade competition, Nikosh Droegkamp, Alex Heitman and Josh McMahon were titlists and Austin Lasanske was second. At the fifth- and sixth-grade level, Jake McMahon and Zack Pogorzelski took second. Jeff Kleser was runner-up in the seventh- and eighth-grade competition.

More than 400 competitors took part in the event.
