Fischer named Wisconsin's Gatorade State Player of the Year

March 21, 2013

Adding just one more title to an already celebrated basketball season, Germantown's all-state center Luke Fischer was just named Wisconsin's Gatorade State Player of the Year.

Fischer, who led the 28-0 Warhawks to their second straight WIAA State Division I title, had already been named the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Mr. Basketball and was an AP first-team all-state selection as well being named the North Shore Conference's Player of the Year.

Fellow Germantown center and Loyola of Chicago star Ben Averkamp was also the Wisconsin Gatorade State Player of the Year in 2009.
