Firemen's Park focus of Fourth
Germantown — The village's Fourth of July festivities start in Firemen's Park, include a parade and end with fireworks.
The parade, which starts at noon Saturday, steps off at Francese Drive and Pilgrim Road, travels north on Pilgrim to Fond du Lac Avenue, northwest on Fond du Lac to Main Street, west on Main to Park Avenue and north on Park to Freistadt Road, where the parade ends at Firemen's Park.
During the parade, members of the Germantown Junior Women's Club, Leadership Germantown, the Police Department and Youth Futures will be pushing decorated shopping carts, collecting nonperishable food items, children's clothing and school supplies. The items will be donated to the food pantry at St. Boniface Church and Kid's Closet.
Donations also can be dropped off at Sendik's Food Market in Germantown, W15800 Mequon Road, through Monday.
Roads will be closed at 11 a.m., which is when festivities in the park begin. Thirteen vendors will provide games, food and beverages until 10 p.m.
The Germantown Senior Citizens Club will offer bingo from 1:15 to 5 p.m.
Party Starters DJ Service will provide music from 5:30 p.m. until dusk, when the fireworks will be set off.
