fish fry fundraiser
West Bend — Keep Your Pets is hosting a fish fry fundraiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. June 28 in the Ziegler building at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 3000 Pleasant Valley Road, in West Bend.
Both buildings, the pavilion and the Ziegler building, open at noon for visitors who want to watch the Kettle Moraine Specialty Dog Shows. Keep Your Pets was started to give temporary assistance to pet owners that need help. The organization provides boarding, assistance with training, advice on finding pet-friendly residences, and transportation to and from vets and groomers. A pet food pantry is planned for the near future.
Ghost walk returns
to West Bend
West Bend — The Downtown West Bend Ghost Walk returns for its second season with four new stories and two new downtown locations running through June; July through November dates will be announced later.
In addition to stops outside historic locations like the Old Sheriff's Residence and Jail, the Courthouse Museum, City Hall, and the West Bend Theatre, locations added to this year's walk include McClain Elementary School and the Frisby House.
Scheduled dates are June 29. July through November dates will be announced at washington countyparanormal.com. Walks can also be scheduled by request for groups of five or more. Groups meet at the corner of Fifth and Chestnut streets in West Bend, and the cost is $10 a person.

Optimist Club hosts
Menomonee Falls — The Menomonee Falls Optimist Club is hosting its second annual Outseam Softball Tournament from June 28 through 30 at Village Park.

Children participate in games, projects, read a story and have a snack with help from Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood and Jack and his beanstalk.

St. Anthony hosts
vacation Bible school
Menomonee Falls — The 2013 Vacation Bible School, presented by the cluster of St. Anthony and St. Agnes Catholic churches, is scheduled from July 22 through July 26 at St. Anthony, W13604 Appleton Ave. in Menomonee Falls.
The class runs from 9 a.m. to noon July 22 through 25 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26 with a Mass for children and their families at 11:45 a.m. The class is for children entering K3 through fifth grades and costs $20.

Learn Not to Burn
program scheduled in summer
Germantown — Learn Not to Burn, sponsored by the Germantown Fire Department, teaches students the basics of fire safety and burn prevention. The program runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays July 25 through Aug. 15 at the Germantown Survive Alive House, W18700 Edison Drive.

Germantown — The Germantown Park and Recreation department is hosting a family camp out from 5 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. July 26 through 27.
Activities include a bonfire, arts and crafts, candy hunt and a continental breakfast. It is open for all ages. The event is free, but registration is required by calling (262) 250-4710.
Movies in the park

Germantown — The Germantown Park and Recreation Department is hosting movies in the park July 26 and Aug. 23 at Kinderberg Park, W14942 Donges Bay Road. Movies begin at dusk, about 8:15 p.m.
There will be a concession stand. Participants should bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Attendance is free with a nonperishable food donation to the St. Boniface Food Pantry.
Bike ride benefits
CMH Cancer Center
Menomonee Falls — The 16th annual Wheeling for Healing bike ride benefiting the Cancer Care Center is slated for Aug. 10 at Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital, N8085 Town Hall Road in Menomonee Falls.
Choose from four routes through Menomonee Falls and Germantown including a family-friendly 4-mile route, a 15-mile route for more ambitious riders or a more challenging 32-mile route. New this year, the event will offer a 62-mile bike route for avid cyclists that continues north to Jackson with a rest stop at Froedtert Health St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend. All routes begin and end at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. The post-ride celebration begins at 9:45 a.m. with brunch, entertainment, raffles, games and more.
