On Saturday, May 30, more than 30+ volunteers from community groups and neighborhoods gathered in six parks (Alt Bauer, Firemen’s, Haupt Strasse, Kinderberg, Schoen Laufen & Spassland) to “clean up”. Groups performed work such as picking up litter, sweeping, pulling weeds, removing invasive plant species, mulching, planting flowers, painting and preparing food for all the volunteers. Words cannot describe the difference these individuals made so I encourage you to go checkout their work for yourself.
Thank you to all volunteers and especially the Leadership Germantown group of Cherie Schadeberg, Carrie Sybeldon, Bill Steitz, John Oswald and Jake Jacobs for helping keep Germantown a beautiful place to live, work and play!
If you are interested in helping coordinate a clean up site in your neighborhood, please contact Brett Altergott at 262-250-4710 or baltergott@village.germantown.wi.us

The Germantown Park & Recreation Department is accepting donations for their 15th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, which is set for Saturday, April 4th at 1:00 p.m. sharp at Firemen’s Park. The hunt is for children in the Germantown School District ages 1-7. In order to make this a truly successful event, we are again asking all area businesses and service organizations for donations or for volunteers to help out on the day of the event. Donations are needed in the form of bags of candy (wrapped candies only), prizes (stuffed bunnies, coloring books, plastic eggs, small toys, etc.) or money donations. In the past we had approximately 650 children participated in the hunt, so we are estimating that we will need at least 500 bags of candy for this year. Anything you could donate would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. All donations will be needed by Friday, March 27th. Donations can be dropped off at the Village Hall, or if you need assistance we can arrange to come pick them up. If you have any questions, or would like to become more involved, please feel free to call the Rec. Dept. at 250-4710.
