Kline Joining Board Soon
Diana Kline is soon to be sworn in as the newest member of the Germantown School Board. She has indicated, in today’s edition of the Germantown/Menomonee Falls Now paper, that she wants to be “the voice of the people”. I recently extended an invitation to her to submit a “guest Blog” and stated that I’d place it in this space as she sent it to me. She declined my invitation.
She ran as a change agent and was elected. Given opportunities to voice her agenda following the election, she has declined. That is certainly her prerogative, although it seems that she would enjoy the opportunity to advance her goals for the District.
The new dynamics on the Board will be interesting to observe.
There are important processes that have been underway since long before the election. Among those is that of selection of the next Superintendent. Interviews have been conducted. The candidates who are under consideration at this point may also be under consideration by other Districts. There is not a huge pool of qualified superintendent candidates in the state. I would hope that we will not lose the momentum achieved as the result of this change to the Board. That could cost us a shot at the best candidate if that person is under consideration by more than our District.
