School District Happenings

**We are losing our new Superintendent at the end of this year.  Dr. Rogers is leaving to go back to his home area near Eau Claire.  Apparently he wants to be “a full time grandfather” as I’m told.  (Update:  Dr. Rogers advises that he isn't a grandfather although his family and friends who have seen this blog are amused at the thought.)

One wonders if he encountered something he hadn’t expected when he arrived in Germantown.  This short-term situation may prove problematic as the Board seeks his replacement.  Prospective candidates may wonder if they want to be involved after a onetwo-year stint by the predecessor.

**Board Member Michael Schultz has submitted his resignation to be effective on February 15^th.  He is moving from this area.

**The legal action mounted by former-Principal Jim Blackburn continues to wind its way through the process.

**The district Human Resources Director replacement process is moving ahead.

**The search for a permanent High School Principal is progressing and finalists should be known soon.

Tests of the new non-QEO world are underway in some neighboring districts.  It will be very interesting to see what the new world of education becomes in Wisconsin and especially in Germantown.
