cur-mud-geon: anyone who hates hypocrisy and pretense and has the temerity to say so; anyone with the habit of pointing out unpleasant facts in an engaging and humorous manner
Our first edition of People Making A Difference features a couple, Kevin and Donna Nash.
It is difficult to think of two people more dedicated to their community than these two. They are nearly omnipresent and yet they do not get a lot of "press". This recommendation was made by Chief Pete Hoell, without "mug shots" by the way.
He mentions the following:
I met Kevin in the first Leadership Germantown class 9 years ago. I met Donna while working on the committee making arrangements for the Circus Train stop in Germantown. Kevin was also on this committee. Both have been involved in Leadership Germantown for years as board members and have held various chair positions. Donna is the current President-Elect. They probably have among the best attendance and volunteer records of the board members.
Kevin has volunteered for and continues to be involved in the Germantown Chamber of Commerce, and is currently a Chamber Ambassador. He is an alumni of the Germantown Police Academy and volunteers to assist the police department whenever possible. He is involved in the Historical Society.
Both Kevin and Donna are involved in 4-H, volunteer for Youth Futures activities and are donors to and sponsors of various events and causes. Donna has become a Germantown Now blogger and posts positive items and current events in Germantown in her blog.
I thank Pete for his recommendation and we all thank Kevin and Donna for being such involved and enthusiastic citizens of Germantown.
The Curmudgeon Blog today is titled MATC Revisited. It is required reading :-)
