Boycott Threats
Some statistics from Indiana show the apparent result in that state of the changes made in collective bargaining rules by Governor Daniels. Those results, I suspect, are most likely common knowledge among labor leaders nationally, and the results of that knowledge are driving the all-out battle being waged in Wisconsin.
Vote on Tuesday!!
We have another election tomorrow, as if you didn’t know. We almost seem to be in perpetual election mode these days. Given the efforts to recall people, the elections could well become a year round activity…that is a daunting thought.

Is someone leaning on poor Ramona Kitzinger? Sure seems that way now since she tells us that she really didn’t know what was going on the day she told us the votes from Brookfield “jibed” and that she wouldn’t tell us a lie.
Auto Insurance Roll Back
Governor Walker signed a bill that rolls back the changes made to the auto insurance we buy. The association that represents trial attorneys, the Wisconsin Association for Justice, through its spokesperson said, “This is a really sad day for automobile insurance consumers”. If the trial attorneys think it is a bad day for us consumers, then I must assume the roll back was a very good thing.
Will $4.10 per Gallon Be Enough?
Is the $4.10 per gallon price for unleaded gasoline high enough now that we’ll begin to push our government for relief? Will we finally begin to cringe enough each time we fill our gas tanks to be reminded that we have the ability to produce crude oil that could be refined into gasoline?

The migration from land line to cell phones only in homes is increasing according to the latest from the Centers for Disease Control article in the morning Journal Sentinel.
Guilty as Charged?
The morning reading of the Journal Sentinel and the Wall Street Journal brought two stories that are somewhat related. The Journal Sentinel featured a story from the Associated Press titled “Obama seeks cause of high gas prices” while the Wall Street Journal published an article by Josh Mitchell titled “Linking Mileage to Gas Prices”.
When Did This Happen?
When did this happen? It seems that ‘suddenly’ I am awed by the current spate of technology and its uses. I used to be on the leading edge, or so I thought, of adopting new technology. Now it seems that I am on the trailing edge…if not further behind.
Any Bets on a May 9th Finish?
The Supreme Court recount is set to be finished by May 9th…but the head of the Government Accountability Board, Kevin Kennedy, quickly stated that he’d seek an extension from the judge if that timeframe wasn’t able to be met by all 72 counties. Sounds like he thinks it’ll go beyond and he is simply setting the bar very low to avoid future recrimination. I’ll be very pleasantly surprised if this thing ends by May 9th; I’m not holding my breath however.
NLRB Run Amuck?
There is something about the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that is very troubling; it is effectively now an arm of organized labor. Ostensibly the NLRB was created to effect decisions of fairness in issues involving labor and employers. The deck has been stacked so that the outcomes can be easily predicted…they seem always to favor labor.
