School Building Referendum...
It appears that we may have the opportunity to vote on a referendum concerning the building of a new school on district-owned land next to Kinderberg Park. I don't doubt that this is long overdue but the mood of the taxpayers will be determined by a novel concept...a vote!
Wouldn't it be nice if we had the over-payment made over all these years to MATC in a fund from which we could draw to build the necessary school buildings? That could easily total some $15,000,000 or more over the past ten years.
We must make ourselves heard by the state technical college board, and we must be heard loudly and clearly!
There is no excuse for our petitions, once filed, to be denied...except for that board's cavalier attitude toward us simple taxpayers. They know that they are better equipped to tell us what is best for us; far better equipped in their minds than are we.
Wouldn't it be nice if that board was an elected board rather than a 'stacked' board appointed by the current state rulers?
Wouldn't it be nice if we could actually elect every single person who influences our lives? We, the intellectual inferiors (according to the rulers), are apparently just too stupid to be trusted with things such as democracy. Who do we think we are... ANYWAY?
