New Laptops Are Fun
I bit the bullet and replaced my old laptop. I am now working on a super-duper HP 17.3" unit running Windows 7 and Office 2010. I am working to acclimate myself to Windows 7 from the old Windows XP Pro operating system.
Things aren't always where I think they'll be and probably won't be for a while, but I get fouled up much more quickly with the new machine, if that is any solace.
I have had, among my many bad habits, the habit of having the system remember my logons and passwords but those are no longer remembered by the new system. I am scrambling for logons and passwords that I have either misplaced physically or mentally.
Through all this I am trying to learn that I'd better be more organized in the future because this isn't going to get any easier as my age creeps up the scale.
I have been using Fire Fox and wonder if any of you can tell me about Fire Fox and 64 bit machines. From what I've seen so far, it looks as though the 64 bit software is not yet in final release. I am finding Explorer 9 a bit of a pain but maybe that is just something I'm going to have to overcome.
And yes, I did have to have the Journal Sentinel organization give me my password since I couldn't remember it to logon to post this Blog. And, it posted blank the first time since I couldn't copy and paste from Word 2010 for some reason as I've always done since starting to use Word 2010.
At least the head cold I've enjoyed for a week seems to be on its last legs!
I'm sure my week will get better!
